An External Drive Spins Down, Goes to Sleep, Standby Mode

spin wdIf WD confirms the behavior you could access the drive in certain intervals with a scheduled task to avoid spindown.I have a 4 TB WD Elements desktop external drive. I think this drive is set to pose downspin down after a period of non-use, correct? If so, is it possible to turn off that capability?
